A busy place serving three meals a day.
Years were spent clearing the land
“by hand” with the use of
fire, dynamite and horses.
Artists in residence contributed to the
cultural program during the summers and offered a variety of
classes.
Rooms were decorated in world themes from
many travels abroad.

The time came when the Swanson's had
passed away. Chuck and Nola McCrary, Georgia natives purchased
the land in May of 1999 with dreams of reconstruction and
retirement in this beautiful corner of the United States. In
addition to reconstructing the lodge they made repairs to the
original farmhouse, built a large barn, added a pond and
installed hydropower to the Lodge.
