A large auction was held by the estate in the spring of 1999. “It seemed as though everyone had memories and wanted a keepsake.” Reconstruction of the lodge began immediately, the McCrarys lived in their mobile home for the first year.

The roof, metal over shakes was removed.
The chimneys received a facelift.
A garden and more fruit trees were added.
The entire exterior and interior of the Lodge was sandblasted and hand sanded.
Quite a few of the logs had rotted and needed replacing. A front porch was added.
New siding was put on the dormers.
All the doors and windows were replaced.
The Lodge was painted and chinked, inside and out.
The fireplace received a facelift.
The kitchen was gutted and rearranged, and a bay window added.
Two bedrooms and two baths were combined to make a master area.
An unmeasurable amount of time went into the cleanup and finish work inside the lodge. It is now fully restored and is an absolutely beautiful place to visit.
